As the director of Global Intelligence, Kerem leads efforts to advance knowledge and empower funders to make informed, high-impact decisions. His work focuses on addressing funding gaps and uncovering opportunities to accelerate ÑÇɫӰ¿â action through strategic investments. Kerem has extensive experience in driving systemic change for ÑÇɫӰ¿â mitigation and resilience, and holds a master’s from the University of Southern California.
Gabriel Francisco
As associate director, Gabriel coordinates the work of the Global Energy Transition Initiative in Latin America to achieve a low-carbon economy with an ecological transformation, focusing on Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil. Gabriel brings over a decade of experience as an energy policy advisor for the United States and Norway. He holds a master’s from the University of London.
Nikita Mistry
Nikita is an associate director and was previously the Deputy Director of Strategy for the UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai (COP28). She holds experience in the COP26 Presidency, Cabinet Office and other UK Government positions with a deep knowledge of philanthropy and environmental affairs. Nikita holds an bachelor’s from the University of Birmingham and a master’s from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London).
Sebastian Castellanos
Sebastian is the associate director of emerging economies at the Drive Electric Campaign. Sebastian’s expertise lies at the nexus of sustainable mobility, new technologies, and ÑÇɫӰ¿â change governance. Previously, he supported governments’ transition to low-carbon transportation and led electric mobility teams. Sebastian holds master’s degrees from the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne and the University of Leeds.
Jonathan Pershing
Dr. Jonathan Pershing is the program director of environment at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, leading its ÑÇɫӰ¿â work as well as its work on biodiversity conservation. He has served in senior positions in the U.S. government, including at the Department of State — where he served as the Climate Envoy, and at the U.S. Department of Energy; he also held senior roles at the International Energy Agency and at the World Resources Institute. Dr. Pershing holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota.
Justin Sylvester
Justin leads our Just Transition program to support energy transition initiatives in the Global South. With over 15 years of experience in philanthropy, he has led program strategies that foster accountable governance for local communities at the Ford Foundation and others. Justin holds a master’s from the University of Cape Town and is an independent Board member of Oxfam International.
Ipek Gençsü
As associate director of Sustainable Finance, Ipek focuses on the public sector’s role in mobilizing and shifting finance to align with ÑÇɫӰ¿â goals. Previously, Ipek led research on the co-benefits of economic and ÑÇɫӰ¿â development in low and middle-income countries and international fora such as the G20. She holds a master’s from the London School of Economics.
Jide Ikeako
Jide leads the Africa program of our Global Energy Transition Initiative, with extensive experience in policy, public-private partnerships, finance and investments. Previously, Jide held executive roles in private equity, led impact investments in the public sector, and was a representative at forums such as the UNFCCC. He holds an MBA from Oxford University, where he was a UK government Chevening Scholar.
Shoon So Oo
Shoon brings over a dozen years of experience in Asian renewable energy to his associate director role. Born and raised in Myanmar, Shoon has dedicated his career to promoting sustainable energy solutions that can positively impact communities and economies and has extensive experience in private, public, and non-profit sectors. Shoon holds a master’s degree from Europa-Universitat Flensburg in Germany.
Narine Esmaeili
As the associate director for Global Intelligence, Narine works to develop and manage an integrated landscape of philanthropic data that supports ÑÇɫӰ¿â funders with data analysis and visualization. Narine has a decade of experience in international development, with a background in analytics and data strategy. She holds a master’s from the London School of Economics.
